W losing his base?

When old, white guys in uniforms part company with a Republican president, you know he is really f-ing it up. For you oldsters who remember Watergate and the staunch anti-Nixon sentiment of the time, ponder this: gool ol' "Tricky Dick" was more loved then than the Shrub is now.

If you are going to have a blog at least don't post things that are not true. Nixon had only about 23% popularity at the height of Watergate, far lower than Bush.

Don't post if you don't know.

Oh no, did Koko post a no no?

Looks like the monkey doesn't know his history very well does he?

Follow the link cited and you'll see that in the summer of '73, with the Watergate story in full swing, Nixon had about a 39% approval rating. But I suppose pulling numbers out of you hindquarters is indeed simpler (if more intellectually dishonest) than clicking a link.

You absolute idiot!

Follow this time line you stupid monkey.

1973 was not the height of Watergate. Therefore any poll cited in 1973 does not represent Nixon's popularity at the height of Watergate.

The height of Watergate came shortly before Nixon resigned and at that time his popularity rating was 23%.

Look it up you boob!

You can't expect Koko to be impartial here. After all he is a left wing monkey who only wants to slant and spin, not inform.

For those who want to know the truth, however, here is a link that tells you public opinion numbers during presidential scandals:

After looking at the CBS site, it appears to me that it was the Progressive site that was playing with the numbers to make Bush look bad.

I think you owe anonymous 1 and anonymous 2 an apology Koko.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Koko to admit he was wrong. Pigs will fly out of my butt before that happens!

Don't confuse KooKoo with the facts boys and girls!

"Oooh, look at this tree!" And that's how you miss the whole forest. Yes, Nixon resigned in '74. But the Watergate break in happened in '72. Right in between that was 1973 which is when the Daily Koz reference took its data. REGARDLESS of that, the point of the post is that Bush's popularity is on a sharp, very sharp decline. THAT point none of you anonymous yahoos have yet to dispute.

Shouldn't you say.. REGARDLESS OF MY TOTAL MISSTATEMENT OF FACT!

Or

It is perfectly ok to misstate any facts on the matter as long as the basic premise is correct.

Don’t give up your day job KooKoo!

What a boob.
